It’s not just about the ancient Greeks and bearded professors. Philosophy is all around you and that includes pop culture.

Our goal with the Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series is to get philosophy out of the ivory tower by publishing books about smart popular culture for serious fans. With each volume in this series we seek to teach philosophy using the themes, characters, and ideas from your favorite TV shows, comic books, movies, music, games, and more.

The series began with South Park and Philosophy, and over 40 volumes later we’re still going strong with The Big Bang Theory and Philosophy and Hunger Games and Philosophy. We’re looking forward to casting our philosophical net even wider with the upcoming publication of Dungeons and Dragons and Philosophy, The Ultimate Star Wars and Philosophy, House of Cards and Philosophy, Avatar and Philosophy, and many more.
